Child Reading Book

Jr. Kindergarten

Our Junior Kindergarten Program is thoughtfully designed to promote early literacy and prepare children for academic success. The curriculum emphasizes the development of strong reading foundations through the introduction of phonics, letter blends, and digraphs, helping children build confidence and fluency in their early reading skills.

Children learn through a balanced approach that combines play-based learning with traditional instructional methods, ensuring lessons are engaging while supporting high retention and comprehension. While academic expectations are elevated, children still have multiple opportunities each day to play, explore, and thrive in natural, developmentally appropriate ways.

Students are actively engaged in creative crafts, hands-on projects, and age-appropriate learning activities that support fine motor development, creativity, and social growth. This approach allows children to enjoy learning while strengthening important classroom and life skills.

Math and science concepts are introduced at a higher tier for this age group, allowing children to combine their emerging reading skills with problem-solving, early experiments, and guided discovery. This integrated approach encourages curiosity and reinforces literacy across subject areas.

Enrollment in the Junior Kindergarten Program requires children to demonstrate 85% proficiency in sound recognition, ensuring they are developmentally ready to benefit from the advanced academic components of the program.
